I'm Kasey, Pearl's mom. Lauren sent me an e-mail asking to use me as a reference and gave me your e-mail as well. Pearl is a black pug with a double curl tail (her fancy name is Bottom Dollar Black Pearl). She will be a year old in January and has been the most wonderful little girl.
 My husband and myself had been looking for a puppy for some time and one of the things was that we wanted to have one that would fit with us and be happy with us. I'd worked at an animal hospital for many years and I've seen what can happen when people don't pick the right pet and it doesn't work out. Anyway, Pearl ended up being the perfect fit for us and a wonderful addition to our family.
Pearl was pretty much paper trained when we got her (much to our surprise) and she took to a potty pad pretty quickly. I think we only had two accidents and that was in the initial first few days while she was still trying to get adjusted. We live out on some acreage so during the day we'll take her outside, but at night it's too dark so she's comfortable with a potty pad on the corner of the lanai. She has been a joy to travel with as well, so for a weekend away she just comes along no problem. She's become quite the little socialite.
Pearl been healthy from the day we got her. I took her to my vet here in Crystal River a few days after we got her home and everything was great. Since we weren't looking for anything other than a pet to spoil I did have her spayed and she did wonderfully through surgery as well even if I was the one that was a basket case while she was under.
All in all we have been very very happy with Pearl and glad that we did make the choice that we did. She's got a great temperament and is the big baby like most pugs seem to be. I love her to death.
We did not know Lauren or were friends with her before we got Pearl. One of the things that I liked most when we went to see her was that she wasn't expecting us to take her and allowed us to have time alone with Pearl and to play with her without Lauren in the room. To me the interaction Pearl showed between myself and my husband was the most important thing and if there wasn't a connection I was ready to drive back home. We're in Crystal River so as you can imagine that was a bit of a drive.
As Lauren can probably attest I'm forever taking pictures and video of her and I LOVE to share them. As my husband says...it's all about Pearl..... |
My name is Jennifer Major and my husband and I have purchased two pugs from Lauren. Our first pug (fawn female) is 11 months old and wonderful! She had a great bill of health and has been picture perfect since we purchased her. She has such a great disposition and is an incredible addition to our home. The personality is almost human that it's scary! :) Our second pug (black male) was purchased 5 weeks ago and he is 3 months old. He is the 1/2 brother to our fawn (share the same father) and he too is wonderful! Another great bill of health on him.
